Algorithm Engineer (Full-time & Internship)

Who we are:

TypeZero Technologies is a digital health and personalized medicine startup dedicated to revolutionizing the treatment and management of diabetes. At TypeZero, we use advanced data science techniques, statistical analysis, proven metabolic models, and modern engineering practices to develop customized analytics tools and blood glucose control solutions to help persons with diabetes improve their health and lives.

Who we’re looking for:

We are in need of both interns and full-time staff to share in project design and engineering. You should want to work hard, play nice, impress and be impressed. Interns may be paid or unpaid with appropriate school crediting mechanism. Gender, age, race, nationality, orientation, and disability are considered neither as part of employment, nor as part of performance.

Algorithm Engineer:

Do you already know python or javascript (R, Matlab, clojure/script) like the back of your hand? Do you have a handful of other languages you have tried and can develop in? Might you also fawn over the elegance of functional languages while reminiscing about object-orientedness much as a lost love from your youth? Spend a summer honing your skills while learning alongside some of the best software engineers in health care.

We’ll ask you to show us some work of your very own. Be prepared to tell us about how a team makes us all better. If you like software-as-performance-art, then by all means stand up at one or more of our plentiful whiteboards and spin us a tale of linear algebra meets list comprehension. Sprinkle in plenty of differential equations and points-free functions and you will fit in nicely.

Never mind about the blathering. If you aren’t yet good at this, Joe will mentor you.

TypeZero is located just off of downtown Charlottesville, Virginia, a vibrant and family-friendly town at the foot of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Charlottesville has been featured as one of the best places to live and visit in the US by companies like Forbes, Travel + Leisure, Kiplinger, and Yahoo.
